Each kit contains a carefully designed mix of regionally native plants selected to provide continuous bloom from spring through fall and support a wide variety of pollinators.
Typical Species Included
Wild-type (straight species) native plants have been sourced from Massachusetts growers to provide floral resources for native pollinators. Most plants are local ecotype (Ecotype 59), where available, and each kit will include several species for at-risk pollinators, as listed by Dr. Robert Gegear of UMass Dartmouth. Typical species may include:
- Monarda fistulosa (wild bee balm)
- Asclepias tuberosa (butterfly weed)
- Solidago speciosa (showy goldenrod)
- Pycnanthemum spp. (mountain mint)
- Schizachyrium scoparium (little bluestem)
Additional species are included to ensure continuous bloom and ecological diversity.
Species may vary slightly depending on seasonal availability, but all plants are regionally native and selected for pollinator value. Please contact us with any questions.
Optional Add-ons
Enhance your pollinator garden with a few optional extras. Experts recommend aiming for 70% native plants in your gardens. However, while the native perennials settle in and get established, popping in some annual blooms will add bright color and boost the nectar and pollen in your garden. These annual flowers are non-native but pesticide-free, pollinator-friendly, and non-invasive.
- Annual Color Boost – $29
Add 8 colorful annual flowers for first-year blooms - Milkweed Boost – $39
Add 6 native milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) plants for additional butterfly habitat
